Born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, I relocated with my family to Florida in 1980 and have been fishing and diving in the Gulf of Mexico ever since. My dad was the first to give me a “paying” job on the water as his first mate when I was just a kid. Since then, I have worked for multiple captains from whom I gained valuable experience on and off of the water.
After I was “hooked” on fishing, I wanted to know more about my aquatic environment so I was certified to dive at 13. I have been fortunate to dive in some of the world’s most beautiful places from the Great Barrier Reef and Port Lincoln, Australia (with GREAT WHITE SHARKS), to the Wall in Grand Cayman, across the Bahamas, and off of the west coast of Mexico.
What I’ve gained from these trips as a passenger on many a dive boat is a respect for what it takes to run a smooth, efficient, and fun operation. Currently, I am a NAUI Dive Master working my way to an Instructor certification.
Being a diver is a huge asset to how I operate fishing charters. I drop in on all of my fishing spots to check out where the fish sit on certain wrecks and where the backdoor holes are on the ledges that line our coast.
When I’m not helping clients reel in a great catch or explore the depths, I can be found looking through my mask for my next super secret spot.
