What a pleasant surprise today turned out to be. Of the 6 spearos we took out today, only 1 had over a year of shooting under his belt and 3 had never even held a gun in their hand before. 18 keeper hogfish, 2 sheepshead, and 2 mangrove snapper later we were back at the dock sharing stories while I was busy filleting dinner for everyone. I always enjoy listening to the stories of the one that got away and one that got successfully tracked down. All 3 new shooters shot at least 1 keeper fish and learned the correct, safe way we teach people how to spearfish. Lawrence and Sid had so much fun they are coming back out tomorrow to grow on the lessons learned today.
