So much for the FULL MOON jinx! To be honest this had started out as a red snapper trip but the full moon does make fishing for them during the day very difficult. Thankfully grouper sleep at night and just feed during the day and boy were they biting today. I knew the day was going to be great when at the 1st spot we dropped a line to show Dayton how to use her reel and it came up with a 22 inch keeper red grouper. AND THAT WAS JUST THE BEGINNING!! Dayton, Natalie, and Emma started the keeper grouper train and Sean followed. Matt started a bit late but he did catch the biggest red at about 25 inches. Joel turned out to be the big winner first catching about an 8 foot nurse shark that made him do circles around the boat. 2 spots later he checked 1 of 3 fish that have eluded him off his list landing a nice cobia around 30lb’s. We returned back to the dock with a limit of red grouper, 2 nice mangrove snapper, the biggest porgy I have ever seen, and 17 mahi mahi. Now that’s going to be 1 hell of a fish fry.
